Second cycle Academic Diploma

The two-year second cycle academic diploma (specialization courses) in Popular music are customized on the basis of the musical inclinations of each student, for the development of the own artistic personality and aimed at artistic productions both discographic and concert.

Famous artists will be the protagonists of the Ensembles, to perform alongside great musicians, start the profession and add material to the own resume.

All the students will come out with a recording production release of their own artistic projects.

Deep stylistic specialization, composition, arrangement and production of original projects in the studios of Saint Louis, Professional Ensembles with famous artists.

  • Pop-Rock Drums: 70 hours of one-to-one classes with one or more educators of the student’s choice
  • Artistic production: each student will have at disposal the recording studio to produce the own artistic project, in collaboration with the students of the phonia and electronic music courses
  • Professional Ensamble: study of contemporary styles and languages, including experimental ones, not strictly linked to tradition. With the company of international artists and guests
  • Composition and Live in studio: creative labs aimed at the composition, elaboration, arrangement and production of the own original recording project
  • Second instrument: Study of a second instrument in a multi-instrument perspective, choice between Drums, Piano, Vocals and Guitar
  • Study plan personalization: Personalization of own study path choosing from over 200 different courses from the various departments of St. Louis, a unique opportunity to expand the own skills and build a future as a professional, able to operate in multiple sectors of Music Business.

At the end of the 2nd Cycle academic two-year period, the student can complete his/her specialization studies with a specialization Master program (acknowledged by the Ministry of Education).

  • Public competitions for music teaching (upon reaching the 24 university or academic credits in anthropo-psycho-pedagogical disciplines and in teaching methodologies and technologies)

INSIGHTS

Since 2012 Saint Louis has participated in the Erasmus + program, which offers the possibility to every student of Academic level to live periods of mobility in other European and Extra-European Higher Education Institutes for study or internship projects.

Each student can therefore benefit of a maximum of 12 months of study or internship abroad for each study cycle (12 months max in the three-year first cycle, 12 months max in the two-year second cycle of academic studies), choosing one’s destination among a wide and excellent offer of foreign partners that Saint Louis has established and consolidated over time.

REQUIREMENTS: 1st Cycle three-year academic diploma already achieved or to be achieved by the February session (registration with reservation)

  1. Consult the Admission Requirements and Study Plan section: Check that your preparation is in line with the skills required for the individual tests by accessing the “Admission requirements and study plan” section.
  2. Fill in the application webform: You can apply to take part in the entrance exam to the 1st and 2nd cycle academic courses from 3rd February to 30th April. International students may apply as of January 1st every year until 30th April. Applications submitted subsequently may be considered only on the basis of the places remaining available.
  3. Take the admission tests on site:Admission tests are held on at least two consecutive days. International candidates can sit the tests online.

Mandatory attendance to the minimum extent of the 80% of the lessons.

  • FULL-TIME ATTENDANCE: Classes are mostly held with fortnightly cadence, organized in alternate weeks, with the exception of the instrument / singing lesson which can be organized at the student’s choice on a weekly or fortnightly basis. About 300 hours of classes per year.
  • PART-TIME ATTENDANCE: Students who, for work or distance reasons, are unable to attend all the lessons provided for in the study plan can personalize their own study plan choosing how many subjects to attend from year to year. Part-time attendance implies a probable extension of the course of study beyond 3 years.
