Andrea Saffirio began playing the piano at the age of 7, following classical music and ragtime studies with M° Barbara Martellini, then approached the jazz that he will deepen, among others, with Ramberto Ciammarughi, Claudio Colasazza, Antonio Faraò, Maurizio Giammarco, Aaron Goldberg, Eric Legnini, Dado Moroni and Pierpaolo Principato.

He has been active for years on the Italian and European jazz scene, live and in the studio, receiving various awards, including the “Premio Jazz Live 2014” at the Fara Music Festival 2014. He is the leader of the “No Trio For Cats” project with which he recorded “The Chicken In Love” (Emme Record Label) and “Colors Factory”, for the Japanese Da Vinci Jazz label.

Andrea Saffirio has collaborated, among others, with Aldo Bassi, Stefano Cantarano, Jay Clayton, Paolo Fresu, Maurizio Giammarco, Rosario Giuliani, Eric Ineke, Gegè Telesforo, Lenny White and others.

Obtained the diploma of I level and diploma of II level with the highest of the grades, since 2017 carries out teaching activity at the Saint Louis College of Music. In 2019 he published the textbook “The Harmonic Language of Art Tatum” (Aracne Editrice).
