Marti Jane Robertson began her career as a sound engineer in 1977 in her hometown of Seattle. Under the expert wing of Peter B. Lewis, learn the secrets of broadcast post-production. A year later, her love of music and desire to grow professionally naturally led her to move to New York City, where she was hired as an assistant at Automated Sound Studios, one of the most important jingle and record recording studios of the 1970s and 1980s.

Guided by engineers like Elliot Scheiner and Artie Friedman, and working daily with the country’s most talented musicians and producers, her career progressed rapidly. Two and a half years later, at age 22, Marti left the staff of Automated Sound to pursue a freelance career. He began working regularly in such historic studios as A&R and The Power Station (which became Avatar), The Hit Factory, and Skyline, and he increased his skills by collaborating with artists and producers such as Marcus Miller, Phil Ramone, David Sanborn, Don Grolnick, Michael Franks, and many others.

Feeling the need to grow not only professionally but also personally, Marti moved to Milan in 1986. Her years of experience as a sound engineer and musician (she studied clarinet, saxophone and flute while in school and privately with Eddie Daniels in NYC) opened the door to many new experiences. In addition to studio work, Marti began working live as a FOH engineer and in 1990 followed Eros Ramazzotti’s European Tour. It is the beginning of a new phase in his career. In the following years he worked with the most important artists of the Italian pop and jazz scene, both in the studio and live.

The desire to help make quality products even for small customers, jazz players and young musicians, prompted Marti to invest in its own facility. You create a “mobile” studio for recording and mixing that works both at home and on-location. Her new autonomy allowed her to leave Milan, and in 2002 she moved to Sardinia. While continuing to travel and work on the continent, Marti has set up a complete home studio where he edits, mixes and masters. Broadband allows her to work with clients even remotely. In 2016, he opened janeStudio, a filming studio, with record label, MGJR Records.
