Mauro Massei saxophonist and flautist. Formed in flute at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, he studied saxophone at the same time beginning with Massimo Urbani in the early 1980s.
Later he graduated in the first and second levels of Jazz at the Licinio Refice Conservatorio and the Santa Cecilia Conservatory.
He has an active thirty-year career with hundreds of concerts and dozens of recording participations in various formations and different musical genres. He has participated in numerous national and international festivals.

Historic baritoneist and flautist of the Big Band of Saint Louis (with whom he recorded in 2009 the album “Live in studio”), since 2012 teaches theoretical subjects, instrument and practice of section breathing.

He has played and/or recorded with: Massimo Urbani, Maurizio Urbane, Mauro Verrone, Tony Formichella, Elvio Ghigliordini, Roberto Spadoni, Gianni Oddi, Fernando Brusco, Bruno Biriaco, Renato Serio, Marcello Rosa, Daniele Scannapieco, Rosario Giuliani, Javier Girotto, Ettore Fioravanti, Enrico Intra, Valentina Piccioni, Maria Pia De Vito, Igor Prado, Junior Watson, Jonas Blues Band, Red Wagons, and many others.
