Pasquale Catalano studied violin, piano and guitar and later composition.

He debuted in theater with Mario Santella , later producing 9 shows with La Compagnia Della Fortezza winning 2 UBU awards and a Europe Prize for theater.

He writes stage music for Enzo Moscato , Antonio Capuano, Alfredo Arias, Fabio Cherstich.

He creates about 70 soundtracks collaborating with, among others Antonio Capuano, Paolo Sorrentino, Ferzan Ozpetek, Vincenzo Marra, Richard j. Lewis.

His music has been performed by musical institutions from the Venice Biennale to the Holland Festival.

He signs the soundtracks of La Guerra di Mario, Alaska, La Doppia Ora, Sono Tornato, Romanzo Criminale-la Serie, La Siciliana Ribelle, Signorina Effe.

With Barney’s Version he won numerous international awards including the 2010 Genie Award.

He won 2 UBU awards and a Europa award for theater, two Nastri d’Argento, a Ciak d’oro, a Golden Graal, a Ravello Cinemusic Festival, three Italian Queer Awards.

He has been nominated several times for David di Donatello, European Film Awards and Silver Ribbons.

Pasquale Catalano gives lectures and seminars at cultural and musical institutions around the world on the relationship between images and music.
