Umberto Fiorentino as leader and sideman has had collaborations with big names such as: Paolo Fresu, Palle Daniellson, Michael Brecker, Enrico Rava, Aldo Romano, Mike Stern, Vinnie Colaiuta, Albert Mangelsdorff, Bruno Tommaso, Paolo Damiani, Enzo Pietropaoli, Flavio Boltro, Furio di Castri, Manu Roche, Rita Marcotulli, Fabrizio Sferra, Greg Burk, Ares Tavolazzi, Fabio Zeppetella and many more.

As a leader, he has had ensembles from duo to quintet in which Ramberto Ciammarughi, Fabrizio Sferra, Gianluca Renzi, Dario Deidda, Enzo Pietropaoli, Luca Pirozzi, Stefano Sastro, Stefano D’Anna, Francesco Puglisi, John Arnold, Massimo Manzi, among others, have played.

In the 1980s he was part of the group “Lingomania” (with Giammarco/Rea/ Pietropaoli/Gatto), a historic group awarded in 1985 and 1987 by the national critics’ referendum held by the magazine “Musica Jazz” in the category “Best Italian Jazz Group.”
With Lingomania in the 1980s, he participated in a countless number of concerts, international festivals and radio and television performances in Italy and abroad. He has taught in Italy’s leading educational facilities.

Umberto Fiorentino has won many public and critical awards in the referendums of leading music magazines. He is the author of three instructional videos and two books.
