Cover Notes written by Rosario Giuliani

I first met Benoit at the Avoriaz Festival in France. He opened my concert with French trumpeter Nicolas Folmer, and the first thing that struck me was the sound of the group and the quality of the compositions.

I advised them to send a CD to participate in the selections of the Europe Jazz Contest organized by the Saint Louis College Of Music, and some time later, I was happy to hear of their victory.

Listening to the music of this quartet, one senses: talent, tenacity and intelligence, qualities that are essential to be able to pursue a lasting musical career.

Benoit Berthe with Jean Kapsa on piano, Zacharie Abraham on bass, and Nicolas Charlier on drums will not be long in making their mark on the international jazz scene, and I am happy to have helped make this fine recording work come to fruition in the best possible way.
